The Journal of the Association of Guilds of Weaving, Spinning and Dyers has just published an article about our exhibition at  Whitchurch Silk Mill in 2024, written by Sue Malvern. The piece explains the origins of our group in the Diploma course in hand weaving run by Handweavers Studio and Gallery on Seven Sisters Road.

Sue talks about how she conceived the exhibition ‘Crossing the Warp’ at Whitchurch and how it related to the visitor’s experience of the mill. She provides a set of mini introductions to the work we each exhibited there. The article was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our diversity and the possibilities for working as an independent weaver. We thank the journal for the invitation to write for them.

It was great to contribute some words about our work to the journal for the Association of Guilds of Weaving, Spinning and Dyers, and we hope the article helps other early career weavers develop their practice.
